Community Integration

With the right care and support, we know that the young people who come to stay with us, can gain their independence and go on to lead rewarding and fulfilling lives within the wider community. From participation in community activities to multi-cultural events and celebrations, community integration plays a significant role in supporting our young people in becoming actively involved members of their local environments.

Staff are on hand to assist the young person in the development of independent and social living skills to facilitate the young person in working towards the transition.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everyone should feel valued and community integration is key in helping young people to become active and heard members within their community. People who have disabilities can often become secluded from their community and live very isolated lives. We aim to prevent that happening to the young people placed in our care through the right support in developing social skills and accessing a range of opportunities.

We understand and acknowledge that we live in a diverse community and encourage all to treat everyone and their religious backgrounds and beliefs with respect. Where this is possible we will encourage young people to participate in community and cultural celebrations and events.

There will be a designated keyworker and experienced staff member to accompany the young person on any trips, visits and events. Staff are also happy to participate where they are able to do so.
